Low Light: The Ace Pro 2's Biggest Win

The Ace Pro 2 pairs its larger 1/1.3-inch sensor with a dual AI chip setup: a dedicated Pro Imaging Chip handles noise reduction and image processing, while a separate 5nm AI chip runs the system and drives PureVideo low-light optimization. The practical result is that dusk and indoor footage looks noticeably cleaner than what I get from the HERO13 under the same conditions.

GoPro's strength is frame rate flexibility at resolution. The HERO13 records 5.3K at 60fps, which the Ace Pro 2 cannot match — it tops out at 5.3K30 territory when you step down from 8K. If you shoot fast action in good light and want smooth motion, GoPro has the edge.

Lens Systems: Modular vs Fixed

GoPro's big differentiator is the HB-Series lens Mods for the HERO13: an Ultra Wide Lens Mod, a Macro Lens Mod with variable focus, an Anamorphic Lens Mod, and a 4-pack of ND filters. The camera auto-detects each lens and switches settings when you attach it. That ecosystem means one camera can cover cinematic anamorphic footage, macro product shots, and bright-day riding with proper NDs.
