Early Christmas Gifts: What to Buy Now at Prime Big Deal Days Prices
Christmas is eleven weeks away, but the toy deals in Prime Big Deal Days are real: three of the year's best-rated playsets are 35 to 47 percent off today. Everything here was verified live this morning.

Every year the advice is the same: buy toys early, because the prices in December do not get better. Prime Big Deal Days, running through October 7, is the first real test of that theory, and this morning the toy section is genuinely good. I verified every price, rating and review count below on the live Amazon.ca listing before writing a word.
Why buy Christmas gifts in October?
Two reasons, one practical and one mathematical. Practically, popular toys sell out in December and shipping windows get tight. Mathematically, the discounts during this event are, for the three toys below, deeper than anything I saw on these listings before the event. A 4.8-star playset at 41% off in October beats a 0-star sold-out listing in December. If you have storage space and self-discipline, October is the smart money.
Hot Wheels Ultimate T-Rex Transporter
Hot Wheels City Ultimate T-Rex Transporter & 2 Die-Cast Cars
$76.17 CAD $128.30
The toy of the event, in my view. It is a car transporter that swallows more than 20 die-cast cars, then transforms into a stomping, roaring T-Rex with a race track down its back, lights and sounds included. Two cars come in the box. It carries a 4.8-star average across nearly 6,000 ratings, which is rare air for a toy in this price range, and at $76.17 against a $128.30 was-price it is the single best toy discount I verified today.
Playmobil Rescue Ambulance
PLAYMOBIL Rescue Ambulance with Accessories and 3 Figures
$26.58 CAD $49.99
The biggest percentage cut of the three. The Playmobil ambulance carries three figures and full rescue accessories, and Playmobil's build quality is the reason these sets get handed down between kids. At 47% off, $26.58 against a $49.99 regular price, with a 4.7-star average and Amazon's Choice standing, this is a stocking-stuffer-tier price on a main-gift-tier toy.
LEGO City Holiday Adventure Camper Van
LEGO City Holiday Adventure Camper Van 60454
$26.04 CAD $39.99
A LEGO set that is literally named for the holidays, and one of the strongest performers in the City line: a camper van with three minifigures and accessories, rated 4.8 stars across 1,350-plus ratings with more than a thousand bought in the past month alone. At $26.04 against a $39.99 list price, it is a low-cost, high-certainty gift for the 6-plus age group. LEGO discounts on current sets are rare enough that when they happen, you take them.
Two grown-up picks worth hiding early
Apple AirPods Pro 3 (USB-C)
$259.00 CAD $329
The most reliable "big gift" of the season, at roughly 21% off: active noise cancellation, live translation and heart-rate sensing, at $259.00 CAD. Full details are in our tech deals roundup published today.
Keurig K-Elite Single Serve Coffee Maker
$131.30 CAD $138.22
The gift that gets used every morning of the year, at its lowest verified price. The K-Elite's strong-brew and iced settings make it the pick of the Keurig line, and it is covered in full in our gifts for him guide.
Amazon Echo Dot Kids (newest model)
$54.99 CAD $119.99
The grown-ups got their Echo deals in our other guides; the kids get the best one. The Echo Dot Kids adds parental controls, a kid-proof two-year warranty and a year of Amazon Kids+ content, in Owl or Dragon designs. At 54% off - $54.99 against a $119.99 list price - it is the cheapest way on this page to make a child's December 25 loud, and with a 4.5-star average across nearly 2,500 ratings it is a safe bet rather than a gamble.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really cheaper to buy Christmas gifts in October?
For the specific items above, yes: each is at its lowest verified price right now, and December pricing on popular toys rarely improves. The risk of buying early is storage and hidden presents, not money.
Do toy deals require an Amazon Prime membership?
Yes. Prime Big Deal Days pricing is exclusive to Prime members, through October 7, 2026.
What age is the T-Rex Transporter for?
The manufacturer lists it for ages 4 and up, and the swallow-and-launch play pattern is exactly what that age group loves. Small parts apply as usual for under-3 siblings.
Will these deals return on Black Friday?
Sometimes similar, rarely better, and stock is never guaranteed in December. If a specific toy is a must-have, the October event price is the safer bet.
